2018 SSI And Spousal Impoverishment Standards Update July 1

The Center for Medicaid & Chip Services (CMCS) has released the updated Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Spousal Impoverishment Standards effective July 1, 2018.  Beginning in July, most states will experience changes in their spousal impoverishment standards, divestment penalty divisors, and more.  The federal changes are as follows:

Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance:  $2,057.50 (All states except Alaska and Hawaii)

  • Alaska:  $2,572.50
  • Hawaii:  $2,366.25

Community Spouse Monthly Housing Allowance:  $617.25 (All states except Alaska and Hawaii)

  •  Alaska:  $771.75
  • Hawaii:  $709.88
