House Members from Wisconsin requested an extension to their state’s SeniorCare program that was scheduled to expire March 31. Roughly 45,000 seniors in Wisconsin use this program to afford medications. If the program were to lapse, there might be a break in coverage for some seniors.

The extension was granted until April 30. The Wisconsin delegation now needs to find another solution or the program could end. However, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is requesting a 10-year renewal of the program that is currently being reviewed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
