Texas’ Congress Creates Bills to Boost Medicaid Funding

The bills, from the Senate and the House in Texas, are hoping to give some type of financial relief to skilled nursing facilities in Texas. This bill would allow providers to have the chance to earn further compensation if they meet “certain quality metrics.”

Although the max amount a provider could receive per resident still will not cover the loss the facility sees each day, the financial support will still help those facilities that are deep in the red. With 62% of seniors living in facilities depending on Medicaid to fund their care, facilities in Texas could see an immediate financial change.
