Two Senators from Pennsylvania released a list of nursing homes that have been cited for having serious quality issues. The list of over 400 nursing homes was created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. These homes are prospects for the Special Focus Facilities (SFF) program which is to say these facilities have continuously shown violations regarding the health and safety of their residents.
The nursing homes in the SFF program will receive more inspections from regulators, are subject to fines, and they are even possible to be excluded from Medicare and Medicaid eligibility if the facility doesn’t improve.
