As part of the USA-LTC acquisition, Paula joined the Krause team in 2023. She is responsible for processing and submitting insurance applications and working with our carriers to track pending business. Paula works closely with agents and brokers throughout the insurance application process—assisting with processing delays, handling underwriting reconsiderations, tracking down outstanding requirements, and troubleshooting any other processing issues.
Paula earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology Management with an emphasis on Technical Writing from the Oregon Institute of Technology. Prior to joining our team, Paula worked at GE Financial as an assistant before transitioning to the wholesaler side, working with 13 wholesalers over 11 years. She was also a Case Manager for Genworth before joining USA-LTC in 2019. With over 20 years of experience, Paula has been able to expand her knowledge of the underwriting process and stay up to date with the new products, processes, and programs in the insurance industry. During the implementation of the Washington State Cares Act in 2021, Paula assisted in processing more than 60,000 Long-Term Care Insurance applications.
Paula is driven by patience, persistence, and tenacity, and she has developed true empathy for everyone she works with. Paula puts her heart and soul into every project, always striving for the best results and seeking more efficient ways to accomplish tasks. Having helped as a caregiver for her father, Paula has a strong belief in the products we offer and appreciates the opportunity to help countless individuals plan for their care.
Paula was born in California and raised in Oregon, which is still her home at heart. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, four grandchildren, and border collie Tas (short for Tasmanian Devil). Paula also loves sewing and quilting and enjoys creating long-arm quilts for others.
